Buffels Bay Braai / Picnic Spot | Vlog #4 | Cape Point Nature Reserve • We went to Buffels Bay for a picnic-braai on a rather windy day. After driving around, we chose a spot on the water's edge where we could enjoy the sound of the waves. We setup and braaied and on sitting down to eat, a baboon came along and in one foul swoop, swiped all the rolls of garlic cheese off the table! The thief also helped itself to a handful of coleslaw...on trying to shoo it away, it vehemently showed us its large teeth! Fortunately, a larger baboon charged at it, causing our felon to run off with the spoils, during this pursuit we found the opportunity to pack up faster than we've ever managed before! Unfortunately, not one ranger happened to make their timeous appearance with their paintball guns to fend off this troop of baboons that swept through the picnic area causing mayhem at every picnic site. We still highly recommend this beautiful unspoilt natural venue but advise to remain vigilant. Keep your car doors and windows closed at all times. Remember this is a National Park and entry fees apply, we advise you look up on SANPARKS website for the latest fees and information.
