A classic movie review of The Eiger Sanction (1975) starring Clint Eastwood and George Kennedy in an entertaining mountain climbing spy thriller who's plot bares a resemblance to some old school James Bond movies... • Subscribe for more Classic Film content: / @reelclassicfilmreviews • Dr. Jonathan Hemlock (Clint Eastwood) was a government assassin, when his former employer asks him to sanction two men who killed an Agent. • He agrees to one last job... unfortunately his target is a mountain climber and is part of group who will be climbing the Eiger in the Swiss Alps, which is a mountain that he tried to climb twice and failed.. The Eiger Sanction (1975) features some jaw dropping climbing scenes filmed in Monument Valley and in the Swiss Alps.. • The mountain-climbing team, and the climbing scenes are convincing and suspenseful (aided by Eastwood's occasional but effective use of the subjective camera). The only trouble there is, we get so wrapped up in the the climb that the actual story becomes secondary....
