Rondalla is a traditional ensemble of different sizes of stringed instruments and a conductor that originated the Medieval Spain. As part of the culture in heritage preservation of the Philippines, rondalla competitions are held yearly throughout the country in different events like festivals and fiestas. • Kumparsa is also a stringed ensemble that is preserved and practiced here in the Philippines. The difference between rondalla and kumparsa is that rondalla is a more formal way of music, while kumparsa is more of a folk-dance interlude.
