Dihybrid inheritance shows how two genes are inherited instead of just one in monogenic inheritance. The classic example is Mendel's pea cross experiment, showing how the colour (Y vs y) and shape (R vs r) genes are inherited. • However by using Punnett squares, we can only get the expected ratios/frequencies of offspring. We may observe in actual situations, that the offspring phenotypic ratios are different than what we expected. This is mainly due to two possible reasons: random fertilisation and autosomal linkage (and without crossing over occurring). • Please like, share and subscribe for more content and comment below to let me know what you think! :) • Facebook: BioRach - A-level Biology Online • / biorachproject • Twitter: @BioRachProject • https://twitter.com/BioRachProject?la... • Background music: • Ambiment - The Ambient by Kevin MacLeod is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution licence (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/...) • Source: http://incompetech.com/music/royalty-... • Artist: http://incompetech.com/
