This powerpoint includes important information about the kinder transport which was a British scheme to rescue thousands of Jewish children from Nazi occupied territories prior to the outbreak of the second world war. First ask learners to think about what a refugee is and then discuss. This powerpoint goes through the key events leading up to the development of the kinder transport, what the journey was like for the children on trains and boats to Britain and how the Jewish children settled into Britain. You can use the powerpoint to help complete this timeline sequencing activity which focuses on the history of kinder transport the activity is differentiated to support children's learning and it also has the answer sheets. Every child of the kinder transport was special and many became very prominent artists and professionals. Did you know four of the kinder transport children even became Noble Peace Prize winners.
