In this video, I take you through the few steps to making some slow cooker caramelized onions. The flavor is slightly sweet with a hint of balsamic vinegar. They’re lighter than a lot of supermarket brands but still incredibly delicious. • One of the best things about this dish is how cheap it is to make. You can easily make caramelized onions in bulk at a fraction of the cost of store-bought varieties. • See below for the full list of ingredients that you will need for this caramelized onions recipe. • 1kg (2.2 lb) onions, sliced • 30g (1 oz) unsalted butter • 1 tbsp. balsamic vinegar • 2 tbsp. brown sugar • These onions will keep in the fridge for quite some time. They go perfectly in so many different types of dishes. For example, pizzas, sandwiches, dips and so much more. • You can quickly cook this dish over the stove, but this method will allow you to do other things while the onions slowly cook and caramelize. • Try to get the onion slices to be roughly the same thickness. It will help the onions cook evenly but thanks to the long cooking time uneven slices should still cook fine. • I highly recommend that you do include the balsamic and brown sugar for the most flavor.
