#tagalog #filipino #philippines • In this video, I’m responding to a comment posted by a subscriber requesting for an introduction to the AFFIX “PAG” that when combined with root words can become NOUNS, GERUNDS AND VERBS. • To discuss the AFFIX PAG is going to be along one. So, in response, I’ll discuss the topic in a three-part video that will over the following topics: • 1. Using the PAG prefix plus root words to create Tagalog NOUNS, which is the focus of this video. • 2. Using the PAG prefix plus root word combined with the AN suffix to create VERBS, which will be discussed in the next video. • 3. Using the PAG prefix plus root word combined with the IN suffix to create other VERBS, which will be in the third video. • THIS VIDEO will cover MY FIRST RESPONSE… using PAG as a prefix to create Tagalog NOUNS. • We have two formulas in using PAG in creating a NOUN. These are: • 1. PAG + the root word = NOUNS. Nouns created from this formula express….“Acts of doing an action or manner of action related to the root word” • 2. PAG + Reduplicated first syllable of the root word + Root word = NOUNS. Nouns created from this formula express...”the act of doing the action expressed by the root word repeatedly, habitually, regularly or continuously” • Both formulas produce Tagalog NOUNS, that in English are, ion reality VERBS that end in ING… like playing, eating, running, which are VERBS but act like NOUNS. These VERBS that act like NOUNS in ENGLISH are called GERUNDS. In TAGALOG they’re just NOUNS. • ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- • TIME STAMPS • 00:00 Introduction to “PAG” • 01:59 PAG to Create NOUNS • 02:44 First Formula • 05:33 Second Formula • 07:26 Sample Sentences with Adjectives • 10:11 Sample Sentences with Nouns • 12:52 Outro • ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- • There is a ton of reasons to start learning Tagalog now!
