Taweret or Taurt in Ancient Egyptian religion is the goddess of childbirth and fertility. She was called The protector of mothers and children • PROTECTOR OF MOTHERS AND CHILDREN. Taweret's name means, The Great One . She was depicted as having the head of a female hippopotamus standing upright, with the breasts of a woman, the tail of a Nile crocodile., and the claws of a lion.
