This Carne Asada recipe is so versatile! Add to a salad, sandwich, taco or eat alone! • INGREDIENTS • 1 1/2 lbs carne asada seasoned steak, thin cut (1/4-inch) chuck or round steak • 1 Tbs vegetable oil, divided • 1/2 large yellow onion, 1/4-inch julienne cut • 1 green bell pepper, 1/4-inch julienne cut • 1 Roma tomato, 1/4-inch julienne cut • 1/2 tsp kosher salt • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper • flour tortillas • lime wedges • sour cream • avocado slices • salsa • hot sauce • DIRECTIONS • 1. Let steak rest on counter to bring to room temperature, about 10-15 minutes. Heat a 12-inch cast iron pan over medium-high heat. When water droplets sizzle and evaporate, the pan is heated. • 2. Add 1/2 tablespoon of vegetable oil and let heat until tiny wisps of smoke appear, about 2 minutes. Place one to two pieces of steak in the pan. Cook about 30 seconds and flip. Continue cooking another 30 seconds. Remove from pan and place on a plate. Tent loosely with foil. Continue process until all beef is cooked. • 3. Add remaining vegetable oil to pan. Add onion, bell pepper and tomato. Season with salt and pepper. Sauté about 4 minutes, until vegetables are slightly caramelized but firm. Remove from heat. • 4. Slice steak into 1/4-inch strips and add to vegetables. Serve. • PRO TIPS • 1. Carne Asada is a delicious protein addition to salad. • 2. Any variety of bell pepper is great for this recipe. • Get the recipe here: http://bit.ly/2nNcYoq • For more, follow us and subscribe! • YouTube:    / albertsons   • Pinterest:   / albertsons   • Instagram:   / albertsons   • Twitter:   / albertsons   • Facebook:   / albertsons
