This is part 1 of my day at the DeCarlo Olive Oil farm and factory (Frantoio DeCarlo), located in Bitritto, Puglia, Italy. This video includes some history of this company (started in 1600), how the olives for the oil (and some other fruits and vegetables) are harvested and processed using eco-friendly methods, and a walk around the farm. DeCarlo is famous for its high quality products, around the world, and has won more awards than I can count, dating back to 1900, when the competitions with awards began. Part 2 will include a tasting of the different products, as well as demonstrate how to taste oil, properly, to experience all of its flavor. It will be ready in the next month, or so.
