See below for Video Timeline • This video describes the functions available in the HMI Advanced trace tool. Topics covered include selecting a variable, understanding the timing, triggering, NC and drive traces, and viewing/scaling/zooming the trace results. Some quick reference variables are listed below: • Position Actual Value Meas. System X – The uncompensated position from the encoders/scales. • Position Setpoint – The uncompensated command/setpoint. • Velocity actual value active encoder – The velocity from the encoder which is being used by the position loop. • Following error – The difference between the commanded position and the actual position. • Contour Deviation – The difference between the modeled following error and the actual following error. • Utilization (m_set/m_set,limit)– A composite of the limiting power/current/torque of the motor/drive showing the value from the signal which is using the highest percentage of its limit. • Torque-prod. curr. act. val. i(q)– A signed value showing how much current is being used to generate torque (or force for linear motors), often used to look for mechanical problems. • $AA_SCTrace[Axis] is the trace trigger variable for the axis in trace 1. • Video Timeline: • 00:00:00 Intro • 00:00:36 Add a variable, start a trace • 00:01:45 Scaling / Zooming • 00:02:45 More variables, common variables • 00:04:57 Triggers on variables • 00:07:57 Trigger from part program • 00:09:08 Timing and sample rates • 00:10:53 Cursors • 00:14:38 More common variables • 00:20:50 Drive traces • 00:25:11 Saving traces • 00:26:43 More Scaling / Zooming
