In this video, one of our Doctors demonstrates how to administer stifle injections into an animal's leg. • Animals can be in later recumbency for stifle injections, but dorsal recumbency is preferred as both legs are presented with the proper amount of flexion. The landmarks for the stifle injection are the distal aspect of the patella and the tibial tuberosity. The injection site is halfway between these landmarks and either medial or lateral to the patellar tendon. As a general rule, perform your injections on the side with less radiographic or palpable changes. All things being equal, inject on the side that is most convenient for you. The needle should be inserted perpendicular to the skin. Once through the skin, angle the needle approximately and towards the midline. Insert the needle in one smooth motion until you hit bone. Your target is the femur at the distal end of the patellar or trochlear groove, between the femoral condyles. Take care, especially with small animals to avoid injecting through the back of the joint. Aiming proximally should avoid this. • • Enso Discoveries' Mission is to greatly enhance the lives of animals through the development of relevant, cost-effective, novel technology that allows our valued customer, the veterinarian, to keep their hard-earned business in house. • Please Like Subscribe Above! • • Looking for a wide range of innovative, easy to use, regenerative medicine kits, Click Here: • https://ensodiscoveries.com/products/ • Looking for free, laboratory services by Veterinary Pathologists who are experts in investigative and regulatory studies for biopharma, agrochemical and animal health, oncology research, and diagnostic pathology, Click Here: https://ensodiscoveries.com/lab-servi... • For the latest News, Updates and Information, Click Here: https://ensodiscoveries.com/blog/ • • Keep up with Enso Discoveries on Social Media: • Facebook / ensodiscoveries • YouTube / @ensodiscoveries6517 • LinkedIn / enso-discoveries
