We will also learn about two of the most important mathematical sequences, the Arithmetic Sequence and the Geometric Sequence. The Arithmetic sequence is a listing of numbers where the terms of the sequence differ by a common difference. The terms of a geometric sequence, by contrast, differ by a common ratio. Because of this, we can predict the terms of an arithmetic sequence by simply adding or subtracting a constant between terms. We can predict the terms of a geometric sequence by simply multiplying adjacent terms by a constant.
