Recorded on 3rd of July, 2024 • Eastern gated signal: Westinghouse base, a WRRS gate mechanism, 2 pairs of GEC 8 inch incandescent lights, a Safetran Type 3 (Invensys) electronic bell and NEG incandescent gate lights. • Eastern gateless signal: Unmarked base and 1 pair of McK H 8 inch incandescent lights (with capped backlights). • Western gated signal: WCH base, a WRRS gate mechanism, 2 pairs of WCH 8 inch incandescent lights, a Safetran Type 3 (Invensys) electronic bell and NEG incandescent gate lights. • North western gateless signal (on the left): Unmarked base and 1 pair of Westinghouse 8 inch incandescent lights. • South western gateless signal (on the right): Unmarked base and 1 pair of Westinghouse 8 inch incandescent lights. • This was the first crossing I filmed today, I met up with some other railfanners at this crossing, the names/YouTube channels are at the bottom of the description. • This is one of the best crossings on the Adelaide Metro network which I have been wanting to film for a while now, this crossing features rare GEC lights and McK H lights with backlight inserts that have been capped, this is the only public crossing left with GEC incandescent lights. • This crossing was installed by the SAR in the 1950s (or maybe 1940s?) with gates, though the McK H signal might be older. Then in the 1970s, the SAR replaced the lights on the western gateless signals with current Westinghouse incandescents, then in the 1980s or 1990s, the crossing had the gated signals replaced with current ones, but carried over the WRRS mechanisms and WRRS mechanical bells that were previously there, then in the early to mid 2010s, Adelaide Metro replaced the mechanical bells with Safetran Type 3's, and in the 2020s, the crossbucks and track signs were replaced with current ones. • Glad to see this crossing hasn't been majorly upgraded yet, I do like getting to film more incandescent lights, especially the GEC and McK H incandescents, although the McK H lights are hard to see being lit from here, but I did get some photos with my other camera. • This crossing was also filmed by @redhen334 and @TazzieTransport on this day, you can also see the other point of views here along with my footage can be seen here: • Fussell Place, Alberton, SA | Adelaid... • 0:00 Intro • 0:31 Activation on eastern side • 2:23 Activation on western side
