A new edit of this video can be seen here: • • Aikido technique SHIHONAGE, the OMOTE... • Here is the aikido technique shihonage applied against basic grip and strike attacks. I show it both slow and fast - mainly gotai (from a static starting point), but also some jutai (moving as the attack approaches) when going faster. • There are two versions of shihonage - omote (front) and ura (back). I show both versions against each attack form on this video. • Shihonage is one of the basic aikido techniques. Its name - four directions throw - indicates its link to the Japanese sword arts, where shihogiri (four directions cut) is a basic exercise. Shihonage is done in a way quite similar to cutting with the two-handed Japanese sword. • Uke was Stephan Schröder: / @stephanschroder7611 • My aikido dojo is Enighet in Malmö, Sweden: https://www.aikidoenighet.se/ • For more about aikido, visit my website: • https://www.stenudd.com/aikido/ • My aikido books: • https://www.amazon.com/Aikido-Princip... • https://www.amazon.com/Attacks-Aikido...
