This is the very best milk tart recipe. Milk tart the Classic South African dessert also traditionally known as Melktert. This recipe originated from the Dutch settlers who arrived in Cape Town, South Africa in the 1600s. It traditionally consists of a sweet pastry crust, filled with a mild, creamy custard milky filling baked in a round pie dish and dusted with a generous amount of cinnamon. Milk tart is still so very popular in South African and it is sold everywhere from bake sales, church bazaars, supermarkets, bakery's and the list goes on, but best of all is home-made. The creamy milky filling is so delicious, not too sweet, but sweet enough it's absolutely delicious. There are several methods of making this delicious delight, some people prefer to bake it, this recipe is cooked on a stove top and sets directly in the fridge. This recipe I am sharing with you today is by far the easiest recipe and the best Milk tart I have ever tasted.
