The SURGE uses a gearbox-driven piston that is a typical design of gel blasters and airsoft. All the gears, piston, piston housing, and inner barrel are plastic. The motor is not a standard size that I could find. The circuit board charges the Li-ion battery through a USB C connector. Power to the motor is controlled by a MOSFET on the PCB and doesn't pass through the microswitch.
