Info Ned - Eng • Het huidige Heusden ontstond rond 1200, bij de burcht van de Heren van Heusden. Strategisch gelegen aan de Bergsche Maas en schakel tussen de Biesbosch en ’s-Hertogenbosch. • In 1680 schrok vestingstad Heusden op van enorme knallen. Kanonschoten van de vijand? • Nee, de bliksem sloeg in de kruittoren! De explosie verwoestte het kasteel maar de oude fundamenten werden weer opgebouwd. Na 1968 werd vestingstad Heusden compleet gerestaureerd. Nu lijkt het weer alsof je door de 17e eeuwse straten loopt. Met deze restauratie won Heusden de prestigieuze ‘Europa Nostra’-restauratieprijs. • Vestingstad Heusden liep eeuwen lang voorop: het ontstond rondom een van de oudste waterburchten van Noordwest-Europa en kreeg als een van de eerste Hollandse steden een stadsmuur. • Voor mij staat dit prachtig stadje op nummer 1 , ja het heeft zelfs Woudrichem verdrongen van de eerste plaats . • Veel is in originele staat gehouden , let op de details , siermetselwerk , muurankers , erkers , binnen hofjes , zelfs de water opvangbak van een regenpijp op 9:05 is een kunstwerk . • Een hele lange middag hebben we hier rondgedwaald en nog niet alles gezien , heerlijk gegeten bij de pannekoekenbakker , tegen schemer pas naar huis . • Een ding vonden we wel erg jammer TE veel auto's maar wat wil je ze horen erbij tegenwoordig . • Muziek : wederom van CEPHEI - Roads to Dream . • Een Russisch kanaal met electronische (new Wave) muziek vrij te gebruiken met naamsvermelding . • Het was een lange dag 19 Maart , maar genoten jazeker met volle tuigen . • Mensen met liefde voor oude geveltjes zeker een aanrader om een dag rond te hangen. • Dank voor bezoek en hopelijk genoten . • Tot een volgende keer :)) • The current Heusden originated around 1200, at the castle of the Heren van Heusden. With this restoration, Heusden won the prestigious Europa Nostra restoration prize. • The fortified town of Heusden was at the forefront for centuries: it originated around one of the oldest water fortresses in Northwest Europe and was one of the first Dutch cities to have a city wall. • For me, this beautiful town is number 1, yes, it even displaced Woudrichem from the first place. • Much has been kept in its original state, pay attention to the details, ornamental brickwork, wall anchors, bay windows, courtyards, even the water catcher of a drainpipe at 9:05 is a work of art. • We wandered around here for a very long afternoon and have not yet seen everything, had a delicious dinner at the pancake bakery, and we were back home at dusk. • One thing we found very unfortunate was too many cars but what do you want them to be nowadays. • Music: again from CEPHEI - Roads to Dream. • A Russian channel with electronic (new Wave) music free to use with mention of name. • It was a long day, March 19, but certainly enjoyed it with full gear. • People with love for old facades are definitely recommended to spend a day hanging out. • Thanks for visiting and hopefully enjoyed it. • See you next time :))
