Bad quality barrel of Umarex Colt SAA Peacemaker and how to solve the problem

With their model Colt SAA Peacemaker, Umarex has done an excellent job regarding design and fidelity to the original, with some minor differences obliged for the fact that this revolver is CO2 powered. But what it is unbelievable is the bad quality of the barrels that Umarex put in the BB’s version. • As you can see on this video, my first revolver, the blued finished, had been replaced in guarantee by the dealer once its barrel went bent and stuck after less than 500 BB shots. The new one is working fine so far, but I bought the Antique Finished that had the same fate than the blued one, in more or less the same quantity of shots. Through the dealer, I sent it to the Official Umarex Technical Service, and they changed the barrel for a new one. No charge. • Once at home again, the new barrel worked fine. But in less than 300 shots, the bad symptoms appeared again. • Fortunately, this time, I had already received the barrel that my friend Jason had sent to me. Jason, who had experienced the same problems with the bad quality of Umarex, had built a new barrel out of the barrel of a Daisy 880 BB/Pellets carbine. Yes, that barrel is rifled so that it can shot pellets. On the video, you will see the differences between Jason’s barrel and the Umarex one. You can see the problems of Jason on this video: • Video • The test is made shooting H N Spitzkugel pellets at a distance of 36 feet (11 meters). I’m very satisfied with the results. The gun can keep shooting BB’s, but I prefer pellets by far. • If you are the owner of one of these beautiful Colt replicas and star losing power and accuracy, your barrel is getting bent. Umarex has started selling the pellet version of the Peacemaker this year but up to now, I haven’t seen one.
