The steel grade is a classification of various steels based on their composition and physical properties. • There are over 3,500 different grades of steel. These grades can be split into four main categories. • Carbon steel. • Stainless steel. • Alloy steel. • Tool steel. • Steel can also be classified by several different factors such as; • 1. Composition ( carbon range, alloy etc). • 2. Finishing method ( hot rolled, cold rolled, etc). • 3. Production method ( electric furnace, continuous casting etc). • 4. Microstructure ( ferritic, pearlitic, martensitic, austenitic, etc) • 5. Heat treatment (annealed, tempered, normalized), etc. • STEEL NUMBERING SYSTEM. • The steel industry uses two major numbering systems to classify steel grades. The American Iron And Steel Institute (AISI) and Society Of Automotive Engineers ( SAE) systems. • Specifications such as those issued by AISI and SAE, provide a standard language for engineers, fabricators, and consumers to communicate the properties of steel. • Watch the video till the end for better understanding, and if you find the video useful, like and share the video, and subscribe to the channel - https://youtube.com/@JamesSwordResear... • 🔔Turn on the notification icon for more content. • #Steel #Steelgrades #Steelnumberingsystem • Watch more videos from this playlist -    • Physical Metallurgy   • ★ Get quality and affordable workshop tool sets @ Wurthtool - https://shrsl.com/3yvml • ▶ Read From Home!
