But that's not all-we're finishing off the entire front yard and giving it a fresh new look. So, I decided to construct a wooden deck, giving the entrance a much-needed facelift while saving myself the time, effort, and mess of tearing out concrete. • You'll see the entire process from start to finish. We'll go through the deck build, step by step. First, I'll explain why I decided to pour a concrete base under one set of stairs, but not the other-sometimes the solution isn't the same for every side of the deck. Then, I'll take you through how I measured the stairs, figured out the total rise and run, and poured the concrete for a solid foundation. • But the project doesn't stop there. We've also got some serious landscaping to tackle. I had 10 tons of black dirt delivered to fill up the front yard and get everything leveled. With some help from my brother-in-law, we spread the dirt, worked on the final touches, and made sure everything was looking perfect.
