The sky was painted in mesmerizing shades of gold and orange, a perfect start to our journey. • Day 1: Varkala Beach Aquarium • Varkala Beach: The Iconic Red Cliffs • Our day began at Varkala Beach, known for its rare red sandstone cliffs that rise dramatically above the Arabian Sea. Walking along the cliffs, you can hear the soothing sound of waves below. A must-visit spot for peace and relaxation. • Varkala Aquarium • A short walk from the beach led us to the Varkala Aquarium, a quaint space showcasing fascinating marine life. From vibrant fish to unique aquatic creatures, this stop added a fun, educational twist to our day. • Jatayu Earth Center: A Mythical Marvel • Next, we visited the Jatayu Earth Center, home to the world’s largest bird sculpture. This 200-ft-long masterpiece commemorates Jatayu’s sacrifice to save Sita in the Ramayana. The sculpture’s missing wing symbolizes Jatayu’s battle against Ravana. Inside, we explored the Ram Temple and saw Lord Ram’s footprints—a spiritual experience unlike any other. • Day 2: Beach-Hopping Hidden Gems • Papanasam Beach: A Spiritual Retreat • Our second day began at Papanasam Beach, a place believed to wash away sins. Watching families perform rituals here was a moving and serene experience. • Kapil Beach: A Perfect Escape • We ended our journey at Kapil Beach, where the Arabian Sea meets Kerala’s backwaters. Hiking along the cliffs to reach this tranquil spot was an adventure in itself, and the stunning views made it worth every step. • Cliffside Cafes • Varkala’s cafes are a delight!
