The Installation of Professor Jennifer Payne as Warden of Merton College

Join us as we welcome Professor Jennifer Payne as the 52nd Warden of Merton College. The historic ceremony will be taking place in Merton College Chapel; alumni and friends are welcome to join the ceremony and service in person. • The order of service for the installation can be viewed online here: https://tinyurl.com/5n84f5j • Today’s service is sung by the Choir of Merton College and the Merton College Choristers, directed by Benjamin Nicholas. The organ is played by Owen Chan and François Cloete (Organ Scholars). • Professor Payne is a graduate of the University of Cambridge and has been a Fellow and Tutor in Law of the College since 1998. She was Sub-Warden from 2018-20 and Acting Warden from January-September 2023. She is an international expert in financial regulation and debt restructuring. She was previously the Linklaters Professor of Corporate Finance Law in the Faculty of Law. She has been a member of the European Security and Markets Authority Stakeholders Group and is currently a member of the Expert Advisory Panels to the Law Commission on its projects on Intermediated Securities and Digital Assets.
