Ditch the Salon AND the Hair Dye

What is the one reason you would have to ditch your hairstylist if you want to go gray? If they aren't supportive of your decision to embrace your natural gray hair! • Our hairstylists become our friends, and sometimes even our therapists. Our relationships with them can even outlast some of our romances! So I believe in having a conversation with your hairstylist about why you want to go gray. Be honest about your reasons, show them your inspiration, and ask them if they have the experience in helping you transition if that's the way you want to go. • A supportive stylist will offer recommendations on HOW to transition to gray from dyed hair. You can discuss if you want to go shorter, if you want to go cold turkey and just let it grow, or if you want to add highlights and lowlights to help blend your gray with the rest of your hair. • They can offer services to tone the brassy ends of you hair and can perform gray hair color blending techniques to hide the demarcation line. They can provide styling and product recommendations like purple shampoo and hair oils and masks, and will cheer you on as you get closer and closer to the finish line with each and every haircut. • So If they still don't to support you after that conversation, then it might be time to find a new hair stylist: somebody who is going to encourage you, support you, and maybe even help you along your silver hair transition journey . • • Now, do you have to give up the SALON EXPERIENCE just because you are going gray? NO! • 💇🏻♀️💅👩🏻🦳 Hair salons offer way more than just hair dye! You are going to want to keep your gray hair trimmed and styled and conditioned, so you can go in for a hair cut, shampoo and conditioner, deep conditioning hair treatment, and a professional blow out or curls! You can still go and get pampered and use that time to do something amazing for yourself! Just without the hair dye! • So should you break up with your hair stylist if you decide to go gray? ONLY if they are truly unsupportive after you have discussed your gray hair goals! • #hairsalon #hairstylist#grayhairblending#grayhairtransition #grayhair #goinggray #grayhairtransformation #greyhair #greyhairtransition #greyhairtreatment #gogray #silversisters
