Quartzsite Arizona BLM and LTVAs Part 1

Quartzsite is surrounded by Bureau of Land Management (BLM) land and is well suited for dry camping. The land is flat with gravelly, first come first serve, camping areas. BLM areas offer free 14-day camping access. BLM rangers check the areas frequently and are fairly strict about the 14 day stay limits. Pull onto any of the roads with free camping, and there may be a volunteer camp host to help you, please stop by their camp to register. There aren’t any services or bathrooms in the free camping areas. There are, however, dump stations and water in the town of Quartzsite. • BLM AREAS • These are the BLM camps in Quartzsite: • Plomosa Road Camping Area • Hi Jolly Camping Area • Dome Rock Mountain Camping Area • Scaddan Wash Camping Area • STATE TRUST LAND CAMPING • Along with the BLM camping areas, there is also State Trust Land Camping areas. State Trust Camping areas are also 14 day stay limits, but you need a permit. You can purchase your permit here: https://land.az.gov/recreational-perm... • LTVA'S • The La Posa Long Term Visitor Area (LTVA) was created in 1983. The campground is approximately 11,400 acres in size. These are Permit required campgrounds. The LTVA long term permit is $180 and allows LTVAs continuously from September 15th to April 15th (a total of 7 months), or for any length of time between those two dates. The LTVA short-visit permit ($40) allows use of designated LTVAs for any 14 consecutive day period from September 15th to April 15th, which begins on the day the permit receipt is exchanged for the official permit and decal. The short-visit permit may be renewed an unlimited number of times for the cost of the permit. LTVA permits are valid at all of the LTVA's.
