(7 Dec 2017) SANTALAND BRINGS FESTIVE FUN TO MACY'S IN NEW YORK • Visitors to Manhattan's famous Macy's flagship store can step into a holiday explosion in Santaland, a fantasy world of glittering pine trees, snow-capped mountains, twinkling lights, cuddly animals and gingerbread cookies. • Every holiday season, visitors from around the world gather at the 13,000 square foot Christmas Village overflowing with holiday treasures for a special visit with the one and only Santa Claus. • Susan Tercero, Group Vice President, Macys Branded Entertainment, says many people come back every year to see their favorite attractions. • Everybody has a favorite. Obviously Santa is the most popular piece of Santaland. Everyone's coming to see him, but a lot of people come back to see some favorite pieces, like our Lionel train set. We also have a large tree with an animated face on it. People come and they expect to see Grover the Tree every single year. And we have just a lot of odds and ends here and there that sometimes make reappearances - little figurines, things like that - fun stuff for the kids. • This year, the department store has introduced a booking system for children wanting to see Santa. • Santaland is open until December 24th. • • Find out more about AP Archive: http://www.aparchive.com/HowWeWork • Twitter: / ap_archive • Facebook: / aparchives • Instagram: / apnews • • • You can license this story through AP Archive: http://www.aparchive.com/metadata/you...
