Laser hair removal has been commercially available since the mid 1990’s. In fact, the FDA cleared the first device for permanent hair reduction in 1997. • If you’re looking at adding treatments to your cosmetic practice, you absolutely need to consider laser hair removal. In fact, laser hair removal represents 46% of all light-based treatments being performed today in the United States. That’s over one million procedures annually. And so again, if you’re looking at adding some sort of aesthetic treatment to your practice, you absolutely need to have laser hair removal. • Now when you’re looking at laser hair removal, you have four different options, or four different modalities to remove hair. You have the 755-alexandrite laser, 1064 Nd: YAG laser, an 810 diode, and an IPL.
