Dauin is a town in Central Visayas, on the island of Negros, in the province of Negros Oriental, Philippines. It has many popular attractions, including Apo Island, making it well worth a visit. • We looked for and found the yellow steel bridge over a gorge to a small village on the slopes of the stratovolcano Mount Talinis, in the hinterland of Dauin, where almost all roads lead up from the coast. • From there we continued to Baslay Highland Brew Coffee and hot springs. • Afterwards we could enjoy the view over the island of Siquijor, the village of Dauin and the town of Dumaguete at the Dauin EDC Geothermal Exploration site 2. • From there we drove down to the village and visited the plaza, the town hall and the newly renovated St. Nicolas of Tolentino Church. Here I got a special tour from two young members of the parish who even took me up the steeple at the end. • Dauin has sandy beaches with a marine reserve and diving area in the middle of town. • There are many old wooden houses to admire within the community. • During our search for the yellow steel bridge in the jungle, a life-size concrete giraffe at a company for iron works and concrete work could not be missed.
