The factory exhaust doesn't sound bad, but it's big, fugly, and heavy. Skip to the end of the description for clickable time indexes. • I shopped around for aftermarket exhausts for the new Rebel 1100, and couldn't find any straight-back options available yet. Two Brothers Racing and Vance Hines have made exhausts for the Rebel, but both of those are upswept and may conflict with the right side pannier. I've had a good experience with the Coffman's Shorty exhaust on my Honda CB500F, so I thought it might be perfect for the job. • Installation of the Coffman's slip-on is very simple. Just loosen the two 12mm exhaust clamp bolts at the bottom and the single 12mm exhaust hanger bolt on the top of the Honda muffler. Wiggle and rotate the muffler while pulling upward from the exhaust pipe, and the exhaust will slide off. There is a graphite exhaust gasket at the coupling that might need to be removed from the exhaust pipe if it doesn't come off with the muffler. • Slide the Coffman's muffler onto the exhaust pipe and set your angle/rotation where you want it... just take notice of how close it is in relation to the swingarm. Drill a 9/64 hole through the exhaust pipe for the safety rivet and then secure the new muffler with the pop-rivet. Tighten the stainless steel exhaust clamp at the base of the muffler.
