/ mitchbradshawoutdoors • Kerri and I took off for the mountains on Saturday morning, July 13th. We went and checked out Rampart Reservoir and got a camping spot for the night. This was my first time up there, it re-opened in May, the Waldo Canyon Fire had done considerable damage here and the burn is definitely still evident and makes you realize how big of a fire this really was. We set up camp and then launched our kayaks to fish for some Rainbow trout. Kerri caught more than I did over the 2 days, we wound up eating two stockers that were gut hooked, we cooked them on the camp fire - they went well with some mashed potatoes!
