Mental health struggles are often the body’s way of warning us about the overwhelming stress in our environment. I didn’t fully grasp this until I left my toxic home and distanced myself from the harmful people around me. Only then did I begin to truly understand my mental health and the path to recovery. • For years, managing my parents' emotions consumed my life, and in the process, I lost myself. I never thought I would make it even till 30! But just as trauma can change the brain, so can healing. • While I share my story as a woman, aware that women experience domestic violence more frequently, it’s crucial to recognize that men, too, can suffer from it.
