Wine-Searcher's David Allen MW tries a drop of Glenmorangie's Quinta Ruban 14 YO Port Finished Highland Malt Whisky. • Glenmorangie is a famous whisky distillery located just north of Tain in Ross-shire, in the Highland region of Scotland. Founded in 1843, Glenmorangie was one of the early leaders in exporting Malt Whisky, despite being forced to close between 1931 and 1936 due to the effects of Prohibition in the USA. • Glenmorangie were one of the first distilleries to experiment with different wood finishes for its whiskies, where the spirit receives a second period of maturation (a finish) in a different type of barrel.
