Cecil Turtle made his debut on March 15, 1941 in the cartoon Tortoise Beats Hare. This cartoon is directed by Tex Avery. The second cartoon featuring Cecil was directed by Bob Clampett. Tortoise Wins By a Hare was released on February 20th, 1943. The final match up was in the cartoon Rabbit Transit, directed by Friz Freleng. Rabbit Transit was released on May 10, 1947. Since then Cecil has appeared in Space Jam, Animaniacs, Sylvester and Tweety Mysteries, The Looney Tunes Show, and Looney Tunes: Rabbit's Run.
