Dr. Patrick Bradley breaks down three easy neck and upper back stretches designed to support better posture and flexibility. Incorporate these stretches as advised by your chiropractor to keep your body moving and feeling its best. • ► The Joint Chiropractic Website: https://www.thejoint.com/ • ► Find a The Joint Chiropractic Location Near You: https://www.thejoint.com/locations • ► Claim Your $29* Initial Visit Offer: https://www.thejoint.com/lp/national/... • ► Follow The Joint Chiropractic on social media @thejointchiro on all platforms. • Stretch 1: Lateral Head Pull • The Lateral Head Pull is a quick go-to for easing stiffness and improving mobility in your neck and upper back. It's perfect if you're dealing with aches from long hours at a desk or from hunching over a phone. • How to Do It: • ► Start seated or standing, and tuck one arm behind your back, resting it near your lower spine. • ► With your free hand, gently reach over your head to the opposite side. • ► Slowly pull your head away from the tucked arm, feeling a stretch along your neck. • ► Hold briefly, release, and repeat on the opposite side. • Stretch 2: Pec Door Stretch • This stretch targets the chest muscles and helps counteract the rounded shoulder posture so many of us fall into. By opening up your chest and shoulders, you’re giving your upper back a well-deserved break. • How to Do It: • ► Stand near a door frame, placing your forearms against it with elbows bent, palms pressing into the frame. • ► Lean slightly forward to feel a stretch across your chest and front shoulders. • ► Hold the position briefly, then gently release. • Stretch 3: SCM Stretch • The SCM Stretch addresses that “forward head” posture that can lead to neck pain over time. This stretch helps relieve tension in the front of your neck, keeping things in balance. • How to Do It: • ► In a seated or standing position, use your fingers to find the middle of your collarbone. • ► Turn your head to one side and gently tilt your head back. • ► Hold briefly, release, and repeat on the opposite side. • Remember, always check in with your chiropractor before beginning new stretches. • The Joint Chiropractic is here to keep you moving with ease. From relieving back pain to helping you live a healthier lifestyle, we’ve got you covered.
