Many people ask me about mandolin technique and how to hold the mandolin and plectrum properly. • So this is a first (and very simple) still video which shows some of the basics. • Of course there are other mandolin methods, but being from the mandolin school of Silvio Ranieri, this is what I have been taught and feel comfortable with. • You will see a Roman mandolin (Embergher) and a Roman plectrum, but the basic technique and way of holding can be applied to any mandolin and plectrum.
