On Valentine's Day, please listen to this beautiful melody on the theme of love! • Fritz Kreisler was born on 2 February 1875 in Vienna, Austria, and died on 29 January 1962 in New York. He was a world-renowned violinist and composer. • Liebesleid is a piece for violin and piano published in 1905. It is the counterpart to Liebesfreud and, with the addition of Schön Rosmarin , is considered to be part of the trilogy Wiener Klassischen Dances (Alt-Wiener Tanzweisen) . Kreisler was a friend of the Russian pianist Sergei Rachmaninoff, who arranged two pieces for solo piano, Liebesfreud and Liebesleid . The two pieces are written in A minor. • The piece is written in A minor and is characterised by a light three-quarter time rhythm with a dance-like atmosphere. The piece is in three parts, with a melodic line connected by a tie, repeated every four bars to form a large 16-bar grouping: the violin plays a melancholy melody in fifths over a tempo di ländler, while the middle section is in A major, with a calm atmosphere and technical direction. The middle section is in A major, with a calm atmosphere and technical direction. A love memory is played as a secondary melody, and the whole piece expresses the sorrows of love. • This masterpiece is technically not very difficult, but is musically very advanced in order to demonstrate its unique emotionality, making it a must-play for violinists. • Piano: Shogo Tsukada • #classicalmusic #violin #Kreisler #violinist #Rachmaninov
