I own the Fiskars X7 axe for about 2 years now. In general it is a very light axe which is very easy to sharpen, gets really sharp and maintains this a very long time (my personal perception). Due to it's low weight it is splitting wood billets of a much smaller size then you would expect from an axe of this size. The head of the axe jumps back a bit on larger wood billets and is not penetrating the wood. So if you want to use the Fiskars X7 at home only for your fireplace wood splitting, I would recommend either a larger Fiskars model or a traditional heavy head and wooden handle axe. For having an axe with you for hiking and hunting the X7 from my perspective is ideal. • Also check out my eBook on hunting with red light: https://www.amazon.com/Hunting-red-li...
