• https://folkfriends.com/Basswaldzithe... • https://folkfriends.com/en/Basswaldzi... • Over the years we have been asked again and again why we do not design other instruments the way we designed our guitar cisterns: Bouzoukis, Mandocelli, Cittern, Blarges .... a good idea, we thought. Somehow historical, but somehow modern again. Our bass cittern is one of the results of this thought process. The instrument has a Fishman Presys+ pickup with built-in tuner. Tuned like a classical waldzither in C major, only everything an octave lower with one small difference: the low C is, in contrast to the waldzither, double-chorded. Don't get confused by the stringing. The photos show our Blarge, which is virtually identical in construction. • Tuning unison: C (C2) - G (G2) - c (C3) - e (E3) - g (G3) • Back and sides: mahogany • Top: Solid spruce • Neck: Mahogany • Fingerboard: Rosewood • Length of the body: 15 3/4 inches • Width of the body: 15 1/2 inches • Depth of the body at the bottom: 3 3/4 inches • Depth of the body at the neck: 2 3/4 inches • Total length: 37.6 inches • Scale length: 25.6 inches • Nut width: 2 inches • Weight: 4.3 lbs • Pickup: Fishman-Presys+ with built-in tuner
