Leitmotives from Richard Wagner's Der Ring des Nibelungen (Ring Cycle). • This leitmotif is known as Götterdämmerung from Das Rheingold (The Rhine Gold) which is first heard in the fourth scene. The leitmotif, Götterdämmerung (translated The Twilight of the Gods ), is played here to foreshadow the fall of the gods in the final opera of the cycle where it is the final leitmotif you hear in the opera.
