In 2015 a horror movie named the Vatican Tapes was released. Almost immediately the movie was pummeled by both movie critics and audiences. The film was critiqued for several reasons, most notably the name. The Vatican tapes sounds like a found footage film, yet it clearly isn’t. In addition, the exorcism sub-genre tends to be a tough place to make a great film as so much of the exorcism ritual was covered in the classic 1973 film the exorcist. Regardless, I still think this movie is quite underrated and worth a watch.
