Genie ProLift 900 Closing Issue

I bought this Genie Powerlift 900 to replace the opening that went out that was installed when i bought the house. After installing the unit, it appeared to work fine. • The programming is a nightmare, no more open and close switches, it works off a programmable memory which is the issue. After about 1-2 weeks of opening and closing, the unit starts to loose its programming and will loose its closed home position. You notice the track start to bend up as pressure is increased when it slams the ground harder and harder the more the programming is lost. Eventually if will be so far off that the pressure sensor in the motor is to much, then the door will re-open automatically and never close again. You have to reprogram the unit every 2 weeks to be able to use it. If your in a hurry and leave the house before it closes, you'll have a nice surprise when you get home and find out your door has been open all day! • Also this issue caused the carter pin that holds the door to the track to snap off due to increased pressure. Read the Home Depot and other reviews, there are countless others having the same issue, you spend hours on the phone with customer support, only to make you pay for a new board and it also not work. • UPDATE: 2015 The issue seems to be mainly when someone or something trips the safety laser system.
