In this spey fishing video , I set out on a solo trip in search of steelhead and salmon on the spey rod. Spey fishing is one of the most rewarding ways to catch a fish on the swung fly. I was spey fishing for steelhead but ended up hooking a coho salmon instead. Spey fishing is a challenging way to hook a steelhead or salmon. Spey fishing can be tuff for beginners trying to get the spey cast down. I enjoy spey fishing for steelhead in the summer and winter months. You can also spey fishing for trout with the new rods and lines that are available now. Spey fishing in Alaska is pretty similar to fishing in the Oregon and Washington. Spey fishing for king salmon can be very productive in Alaska but a little harder in the Pacific Northwest. Spey fishing for bass and spey fishing for coho is similar to spey fishing for steelhead.
