Candle Making Wick Holder

http://www.creationscandles.com When making candles one thing that is needed is a way to hold the candle wick in the mold or container. There are several ways to accomplish this. The way that we like to do this is to make custom wick holders from bamboo skewers. • Using bamboo skewers to make a wick holder gives you full control of the length of the wick holder. • Simply cut the bamboo skewers to the length that you want to span the opening of the container or mold. Once you have a matching pair you are ready to make the holder. Hold the pair of skewers together and using a hot glue gun glue the two bamboo skewers together at one end. Let the glue dry and you now have an effective wick holder for any sized container or mold. • If you need it to be tighter around the wick you can use a rubber band or bread tie to pinch the bamboo skewers together more tightly. We have found that we do not need to do this in most cases because the bamboo skewers have a natural spring to them that holds them together around the wick.
