Microsoft recommends resetting the Kerberos Ticket Granting Ticket (krbtgt) every six months. The primary purpose of the krbtgt account is to authenticate Kerberos tickets as the Key Distribution Center (KDC) account. If you suspect that Active Directory has been compromised, reset your krbtgt immediately. Before you reset the krbtgt, ensure that Active Directory is healthy.
