I went up and out as far as I could get to the edge of the mountains on this big old place. Abandoned and deserted colonial farms that have had people doing things for hundreds of years. • Grab a metal detector and go ! head for the woods and start exploring. • This part of NH has 300 years of history from the settler to present day and you can see all the things that have happened by reading the landscape history. Old abandoned roads, ancient walls, early 1900s logging , wagon trails , cellar holes and more. I head deep into the woods of in this video and get as far up to the edge of the mountains as I can to see what I can find visually and in the ground. Using my Fisher F19 I hiked all over the place and dug up all the signals I heard. The colonial walls are strong out here and you can see the signs of cleared improved land. But the largest trace of activity on the land is from the loggers back in the early 1900s. the stumps and leftover logs are actually still all over the place.
