Petrena walked towards us and asked us if we wanted to go to the Rodeo tonight. We had no clue that there would be a rodeo around, but it seemed us an interesting night out. And so it was! • Driving on the left side of the road • We could borrow the car to drive from our place in Katherine to Mataranka, which is about 100 kilometers. We are still not used to driving on the left side of the road. Nanet keeps on entering the car at the wrong side and Kelly always looks the wrong way when she crosses a street. • Driving itself went very well and within one and a half hour we were in Mataranka. We had to pay a little entrance fee, but that was more than worth it! As the evening was started yet, we first wanted something to eat from the little kiosk. We never had french fries with gravy before, but it tasted very well! • The rodeo • Just after dinner the show begun! We couldn't believe our eyes when we saw little kids riding on baby bulls. And then we mean really little kids! The youngest was only 3 years old! The parents were holding their kids, so they would'n fall on the ground. But kids from only 6 or 7 years old were riding alone without any assistance! Incredible! They all want to become a famous bull rider. • After the youngsters the real men came on stage. Riding bulls that literally bounce from adrenaline and energy. It is unbelievable how much strength they have and how much anger they radiate. • Luckily the people from the Rodeo know how to handle these animals, but sometimes the bull was faster or smarter! • Our experience • We had a great evening with lots of amazement and excitement. Although we don't always agree with the treatment of the animals, it was a real good Australian outback experience. • Check out the video below to see a real spectacle! • By http://alwaysaroundtheworld.com • Music: Rednex - Cotton Eye Joe
