Smaller nuances should be explored with the tenuto notes in bars 4, 5, 27 28 where a little lean and possibly a slight delay is desired on these quavers. • Don't be afraid to let the pedal deliberately blur the harmonies, where it's actually marked to do so. This adds to the impressionist feel of the piece - the title also suggesting something dreamy . Little dabs of pedal might also help in bars 30 31 to keep the legato flow where there are awkward hand position changes, but be careful not to blur the harmonies that are not marked so. In the next bar (32) this performance deliberately separates the 2nd quaver from the first as the start of a new phrase. A similar break should also be obvious after the pause in bar 15 - a momentary silence between the phrases. • Finally, don't be shy with dynamics, but rather generous with big contrasts from pp to forte.
