Discussion on catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia (CPVT). • Catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia is a potentially life threatening cardiac channelopathy with propensity for polymorphic, typically bidirectional ventricular tachycardia with exercise or emotional stress. • Various genotypes of CPVT have been described, ranging from CPVT1 to CPVT5 as per the OMIM database. The first one to be described was CPVT1 with mutation in cardiac ryanodine receptor. A review on CPVT was published by us in Heart Rhythm in 2005.
