Make your own etching press from a pasta machine

Etching presses are expensive and difficult to come by for a lot of people, but there are ways to build your own inexpensively so that you can print at home or while travelling, whether you're an experienced printmaker or someone who wants to try it out. Etching presses also take up a lot of room, so if you live in a small space, this is a great space saving alternative. • In this video, I show you how to build a miniature etching press using a pasta machine and a sheet of 6.5mm plywood. This build also incorporates a lid that includes a piece of perspex so that it doubles as an inking bench. • *** • Affiliate Links (I earn a small commission when you buy things through these links): • Jackson's art supplies UK: https://www.jacksonsart.com?acc=dd77279f7d325eec933f05b1672f6a1f ___store=jacksonsart_en • Blick Art USA: https://www.jdoqocy.com/click-1002182... • Thomann Europe: https://redir.love/thocf/3mq8cpp73a • *** • Website: http://www.crumpart.net • Patreon:   / crumpart   • Instagram:   / crumpart_draws   • Facebook:   / leonieconnellan   • Subscribe to my mailing list: https://www.crumpart.net/mailing-list • *** • This project was also made as part of the Modern Maker Podcast Rockler Plywood Challenge, to see what can be made from a single sheet of plywood.    / @modernmakerpodcastclips   • Materials and tools used: • Pasta machine • 1 sheet of 6.5mm plywood (I had a few small offcuts that I'll be using to make woodcut prints) • PVA or wood glue • Contact adhesive for sticking metal to wood • Perspex • White acrylic paint • Water-based varnish • Screws • Sandpaper • Waxed paper • Circular saw • Drill • Tape measure • Clamps/weights
