Suggestion: switch to HD to be able to read the text. • Fallen London is a web-based game where you explore the strange and fascinating world of the eponymous town, a Victorian London stolen by bats and now underground. You will meet devils, urchins, dock workers, rubbery men, dreadful spiders and much more. • FL is mostly about text and mood, slowly hooking you in with its delicious descriptions of the city and its inhabitants. But it's also part RPG with its set of stats (Dangerous, Watchful, Shadowy and Persuasive) and its list of items, some of them equippable. • It is meant as a coffee-break game, which means you have a limited number of actions that regenerate with time. But do not scream in despair yet! It refreshes rather quickly compared to other such games (1 action per 10 minutes, capped at 10 by default) and, admittedly, the whole game being designed for short sessions, it is not as frustrating as it sounds (though I recommend not wasting 10 actions on doing the same thing... explore, vary!) • Fallen London happens to be free, though you can pay real life money to access a few exclusive story bits, or have more actions, if you're in a hurry -- and want to reward the authors. • It can optionally be linked to a Twitter or Facebook account, allowing you to invite a friend to the game (with some very little bonus for doing it -- it's mostly flavor, really) but also to cooperate here and there. It is not a co-op game by any means though and it's perfectly solo-able. • Update: added a soundtrack for the mood. All the music comes from Kevin McLeod at http://incompetech.com/ • List of tracks used, in order: Lithium, Medusa, The Pyre, Alchemists Tower, On The Shore, Darkest Child, The Path of the Goblin King, Grim League and Seven Off.
